Title: A Resolution to All Things
Category: Fan Fiction
Fandom: The Magnificent Ambersons by Booth Tarkington
Summary: An embellishment of that window of time George and Lucy spend together in the hospital before the arrival of Mr. Morgan, and the perks of being an invalid.
He wouldn't object to a wedding in a wheelchair.
I just finished reading this novel myself, and have become enraptured with it. I was saddened by the apparent lack of fandom - with two well-done film adaptations, one quite recent, it was a disappointment.
I'm aware that this is an old and quite obscure novel, nowdays, but it does really have many themes that are appealing to a modern fan base. Trust me - while I slogged through Anne of Windy Popular, Ambersons kept me turning the pages.
Hopefully, there are some other appreciators online, whether they're film noir buffs or literary afficiandos. A separate community seemed the logical step when there were four communities of similar subject matter that listed the book as an interest. ^_~
I really hope to see some fan work and such, if it's not too much of a stretch. I'm writing a George/Lucy piece myself that I'm having a lot of fun with, in true 'shipper fashion.
